Social Distancing

I haven’t blogged in awhile, but I hope all is well with everyone during this trying time. I also hope that everyone is able to partake in self-care and things that are conducive to maintaining their peace of mind at some point during this pandemic. It’s a very scary and confusing time for most of the world. However, it’s still important for us to take care of ourselves and maintain some level of normalcy even though things aren’t what they used to be.

The most important thing is to not spend too much time obsessing over COVID-19 as well as the news pertaining to it. A lot of information is being put out at once. Sometimes it’s okay to temporarily check out. However, not in a way that could be potentially hazardous just in a way where you’re distracted for a little while. It’s also important to use discernment in a lot of the things that are being shared online. Don’t fall for fear tactics or things that are shared just to incite anxiety.

Indulging in self-care has helped me a lot. It’s helped me maintain peace of mind almost everyday of this pandemic.

Lately I’ve been gaming. I’m currently playing Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch. Feel free to add my FC: SW-8344-7327-0028 so you can visit my island or play me in Mario Kart. I’ve also been reading too. I’m currently reading Little Fires Everywhere. I’ve been watching tons of movies, but my favorites at the moment are Caliphate, Uncorked and Unorthodox all of which are on Netflix. Moreover, I’m getting back into blogging now that I have time. One of my new hobbies that I started a few weeks prior to social distancing doing my own little art therapy sessions. I’ve been teaching myself how to paint. I also make soap too. Check out my soaps on my Etsy page

I think the most important thing is to take time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life at the moment. It’s a crazy time, but being home created an opportunity for me to do all of the things that I felt like I never had the time to do. I’m going to come out of social distancing with some new skills and hobbies (lol).

I say that to say this may be a scary time, but there’s a silver lining in everything. When this pandemic is over the most important things you can do is come out of it with your mental health intact, some new skills, and peace of mind. Continue social distancing. Stay home. Stay informed. Stay calm.
